I am an artist and an arts administrator. My art practice is photography. For the last few years I haven't done much by way of art. Work and life have taken up most of my time and I have not been inspired to make much new work. This work began with a personal value. I value my friendships; the time I spend with good friends and the conversations we have together. A good conversation, be it a heart-to-heart or something more playful, makes my day. That is why I chose to employ connection with friends as a starting point for some experimental work. In the works illustrated I gave two friends a selection of new images that represented some ideas I have been exploring. I invited both to continue the conversation visually. In essence I shared a personal reflection and each friend responded. Both Suzanne and Alex brought the best of themselves to the discourse in their own unique voice. I love the pieces.
