Threads of desire are plucked between lovers, one yearning, and the other lingering over her cup of tea as she day dreams. Pulled Threads stitch the knots, loops, and occasional snarled thread weaving the complex underlying fabric of a relationship between lovers. Karen has been an artist of one kind or another all her life. Starting out as a graphic designer making t-shirts and signs, she returned to university and graduated with a bachelor of fine arts. She has since focused on landscape painting and creating fabric based sculptures exploring nature and the body feminine. Her work is in private collections and has been exhibited in group shows and solo shows across Canada. Karen lives in a country home near the hamlet of Ste. Genevieve, Manitoba with her best friend and greatest supporter of her art, her husband Tim. Together, along with two spoiled rotten cats, they share their home, a love for country living, gardening and nature. Contact Information www.karenwardle.com. |
