As for my comment about the work and my thoughts on the experience: “It’s an odd sort of painting, said Alice, but then again painting is an odd sort of thing.” I loved the experience. Thank you very much for making it happen! Patricia Eschuk is a visual artist from Winnipeg, Manitoba, whose work incorporates painting, drawing, printmaking and installation. Her practice investigates various concepts whose roots stem from her past and present experiences as a woman and mother. It addresses psychological states and transformations on a personal level and outside of herself. She is interested in how she is affected by and at the same time how she affects the intricate web of the world that surrounds and engages her. She explores this through both two and three dimensional works that play with space; and elements such as: rhythm, balance, dissonance, tension, flow, chaos and stillness. An important aim in her practice is to engage the viewer and bring them into an experience of her work. She is currently completing her third year at the Faculty of Fine Arts studio program at the University of Manitoba. Patricia was a participant in the MAWA Foundation Mentorship Program in 2011-12.
